Pelvic focused physical therapy and coaching, is a unique modality used to treat painful periods, pelvic organ prolapse, infertility, incontinence, diastasis recti, low back pain, and childbirth.

As Gabor Mate says, “Trauma is what happens in you, not what happens to you.” Trauma happens in relationship and therefore, needs to be healed in relationship. Trauma-Focused physical therapy and coaching facilitates the body’s innate ability to complete stress response cycles allowing the mindbody to RESPOND and RELATE to self, others, and the environment. From the mindbody perspective, when trauma remains in the immobilized, reactive, implicit, and subconscious level, messages of distress may manifest in our tissues, beliefs, and behaviors.

I am here to help you navigate and understand the messages of the body in support of your own liberation from the unconscious dynamics that block connection, growth, and healing.

The pelvis is the seat of the soul—our work together will involve various modalities and tools to support your unique path of healing. This relational, reparative healing is only done together, in relationship. I am here to root us in compassion and grace with a goal of your experiencing your body as a safe container.

Commonly Asked Questions:

What happens during an internal pelvic evaluation?

With consent, we have the option to explore your pelvic organs and muscles inter-vaginally or inter-rectally. Using a gloved finger and lubricant, we are able to reach tissues that may be in need of healing.

What if I am bleeding on my menstrual cycle?

Menstrual bleeding does not compromise our ability to continue your session. In fact, it may be a good time for a session if we are learning about your period. Please note the cancellation policy.

Can my partner sit in on the session?

Yes! If you choose to involve your partner in this safe, healing space, they will be including in the capacity of your choosing as this is all in support of your healing.

Can I bring my baby/children?

Yes! We fully acknowledge, support and celebrate the demands of motherhood. Please feel welcome to bring your children to the session if you feel it is in service of your healing. Your kiddos can play on the floor in the room. Your baby can eat during our session. I sometimes can manage holding a baby while supporting you! And I even move the treatments to the floor if a crawling babe needs to be attended to. I also support a desire to have this time for yourself without your kids. To clarify, no childcare does not need to be a barrier to access of therapy.

How should I prepare for my session?

There is no need to do any special grooming. In fact, I encourage you to give yourself permission to show up fully as you are unapologetically! Be sure to arrive on-time as I am not able to run later to accommodate any delay in starting the session. Please consider clearing your system from toxins (alcohol, marijuana, substances) the day prior to your session as it influences your nervous system.

What should I expect to experience after the session?

Well that really depends on each individual. Some experience a day or a week of energetic shifting that may include clearing of bowels, a desire for rest, increased energy, clarity, changes in symptoms… it varies!

Do you accept insurance?

We provide superbills which are receipts with medical codes to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We do not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance and we do not work with/communicate with your insurance company. You must request your superbill in a timing manner (before 6 weeks after your session).

How many sessions will I need?

At your first appointment, I may recommend a specific number of visits based on your uniqueness. Due to the variability in personal goals and presentation, the number of recommended sessions varies greatly.

What is your cancellation policy?

We keep a firm boundary on our cancellation policy. You must cancel prior to 24 hours before your session or you will be charged the full cost of your booked appointment.
